Vice President, Controller Overview
- The Vice President, Controller will oversee accounting and reporting for a prestigious family office, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage financial operations across diverse investment portfolios, including private equity, credit, and real assets.
- Collaborate with investment and advisory teams to produce detailed performance analytics and reports.
- Support liquidity management, capital planning, and forecasting for the family office's financial activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of accounting processes and controls for a growing platform.

Vice President, Controller Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Execute monthly and quarterly financial closes across investment vehicles and entities, maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger for all entities.
- Manage partner capital accounts, capital calls, and distribution activities per agreements.
- Calculate fund waterfalls, carried interest, and incentive allocations for multiple investment vehicles.
- Support quarterly valuation processes and produce performance reports including IRR, MOIC, DPI, and TVPI.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance with external advisors and service providers.
- Review deliverables from administrators and service providers for accuracy and completeness.
- Enhance accounting systems and controls to support operational efficiency and compliance.
Vice President, Controller Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
- CPA designation preferred, with 8–12 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Expertise in fund and partnership accounting within alternatives such as private equity or real assets.
- Proficiency in US GAAP and partnership accounting principles, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems like Allvue or Investran.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive financial matters with discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
