Paralegal Overview

  • The Paralegal role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Wealth Planning department on a contract basis.
  • Support trustee succession processes and assist with drafting legal documents and summaries.
  • Collaborate in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-office and remote work flexibility.

Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft Receipt & Release forms, Successor Trustee Release forms, and other trustee succession-related documents.
  • Prepare Trust Key Attributes forms profiling essential trust characteristics for internal use.
  • Draft promissory notes and summaries of trusts as required.
  • Assist with special projects assigned by the Wealth Planning department.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal standards in all documentation and processes.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the department.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and workflows.

Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trust and estate planning or related areas.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and summarizing trust characteristics.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
