• Maintain clinical competency in Labor & Delivery practices to support high census periods.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Oversee a large Accreta Program and contribute to its success.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities for staff members.

Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead and manage a team of 120 FTEs across Labor & Delivery units.
• Develop and implement care plans based on nursing assessments and re-assessments.
• Maintain clinical readiness to perform staff nurse duties during high census periods.
• Ensure compliance with state and national healthcare regulations.
• Monitor and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
• Facilitate training and professional development for team members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Oversee the implementation of advanced medical procedures and technologies.
• Support the hospital's Accreta Program and contribute to its recognition as a leading program.

Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing; 5 years preferred.
• Competency in acute care Labor & Delivery clinical practices required.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider certification required.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire.
• Strong leadership and team management skills essential.
• Ability to oversee large-scale programs and manage complex departmental operations.
