Licensed Practical Nurse Overview

• The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide essential nursing care and clinical support in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Assist primary care providers in delivering high-quality patient care services and ensuring patient satisfaction.
• Support LGBTQ+ patients with empathy and professionalism, fostering an inclusive care experience.
• Perform Point of Care (POC) procedures including rapid testing, sample collection, and vaccinations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage patient flow and maintain efficient operations.
• Utilize Epic EMR or similar systems to document patient information and streamline workflows.
• Engage in small medical procedures such as wound care and OBGYN-related tasks.
• Contribute to infection control practices and emergency response readiness.
• Participate in rotating shifts, including evening and weekend schedules, to meet patient needs.

Licensed Practical Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide general nursing care under the supervision of healthcare professionals, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Assist with triage procedures, patient assessments, and follow-up care coordination.
• Perform Point of Care (POC) tasks including sample collection, rapid testing, and vaccinations.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist providers with medical procedures.
• Document patient information accurately using Epic EMR or similar systems.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
• Support infection control practices and emergency response protocols.
• Provide vaccinations and health education to patients as part of weekly dedicated sessions.
• Participate in rotating shifts, including evening and weekend schedules, to meet patient needs.

Licensed Practical Nurse Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; nursing certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR or similar systems for patient documentation.
• Experience with Point of Care (POC) procedures and small medical tasks.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices and emergency response protocols.
• Ability to work effectively with LGBTQ+ populations in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
