Senior Accountant Overview

• The Senior Accountant role focuses on journal entries, cost analysis, and reconciliations for assigned business areas.
• Collaborate with Operations and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
• Perform balance sheet analyses and reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and monthly forecasts for assigned cost centers.
• Maintain fixed assets within the SAP Fixed Asset module, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide schedules and documentation for external audits during interim and year-end periods.
• Document policies, procedures, and controls to support Sarbanes-Oxley implementation.
• Ensure adherence to FDA regulations and company policies, including compliance training and documentation.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Post monthly journal entries and analyze variances in costs for assigned areas.
• Prepare expense analysis to identify trends and resolve unusual fluctuations.
• Collaborate with operational departments to summarize financial impacts of activities.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and address variances.
• Develop and maintain annual budgets and forecasts in BPC for cost centers.
• Manage fixed assets using SAP Fixed Asset module and ensure compliance.
• Support external audits by preparing requested schedules and documentation.
• Educate operational departments on accounting policies and procedures.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a managerial capacity.
• Proficiency in SAP or Tier I ERP applications, Excel, and Word.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail are essential.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley policies and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively.
• Ability to adhere to FDA regulations and company policies.
• Experience in documenting policies and procedures for compliance purposes.
