Cost Allocation Leader Overview

  • Lead cost allocation processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to refine allocation drivers and methodologies for optimal transparency.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, regulatory filings, and audit responses to maintain compliance standards.
  • Provide comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and cost optimization.
  • Develop organizational policies to enhance cost allocation practices and regulatory adherence.
  • Partner with actuarial teams to ensure accurate pricing and bid preparation.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives through detailed documentation and audit preparation.
  • Utilize Oracle PCM for maintaining accurate allocation models and business rules.
  • Contribute to executive leadership financial analysis and reporting requirements.

Cost Allocation Leader Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and implement business logic updates for administrative expense allocations.
  • Coordinate monthly GAAP and intercompany expense allocations with accounting and systems teams.
  • Conduct time studies and evaluate vendor contracts to support allocation methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for cost allocation practices.
  • Provide variance analyses and strategic insights for financial improvement.
  • Support actuarial analyses and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare administrative cost expense reports and identify trends for cost reduction.
  • Maintain allocation drivers and business rules in Oracle PCM for accuracy.
  • Respond to audit, regulatory, and ad hoc requests with timely and accurate information.

Cost Allocation Leader Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • 8-12 years of experience in financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Oracle PCM and financial systems like PSoft/Oracle GL/Hyperion.
  • Experience in healthcare finance and statutory financial reporting is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Expertise in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships across departments.
