Major Gifts and Individual Manager Overview
- The Major Gifts and Individual Manager leads fundraising initiatives for high-end annual giving and major gifts programs.
- Collaborates with Foundation Board, volunteer leaders, and staff to achieve organizational goals.
- Develops strategies to cultivate donors capable of making significant contributions.
- Manages a portfolio of prospects and donors, ensuring effective engagement and stewardship.
- Utilizes development software for tracking donor activities and moves management.
- Works closely with program leaders to identify fundable opportunities and expand donor base.
- Plans and implements donor recognition campaigns to enhance donor relationships.
- Contributes to achieving or exceeding Foundation revenue targets through strategic initiatives.
- Operates in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-office and remote work effectively.
Major Gifts and Individual Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify, cultivate, and steward major gift prospects through appeals and events.
- Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors.
- Conduct research to identify donor prospects and build relationships through visits and events.
- Collaborate with Development Project Coordinator to ensure timely donor acknowledgment.
- Manage a portfolio of donors, preparing reports and correspondence post-visits.
- Communicate persuasively through proposals, appeal letters, and donor presentations.
- Plan and staff fundraising events to enhance donor engagement.
- Track and report progress of major gifts program monthly to leadership.
- Support the development of donor programs, including alumni and patient donor initiatives.
Major Gifts and Individual Manager Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fundraising or business development.
- Proven track record of achieving significant revenue targets through major gifts programs.
- Experience building relationships with high-net-worth individuals is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with development software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with strategic thinking ability.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies and leadership.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to a hybrid work environment.
