Job Description

Registered Nurse Overview

  • The Registered Nurse (Care Team Supervisor) oversees clinical operations, ensuring patient satisfaction, safety, and quality care standards are maintained.
  • Provide professional nursing care, including administering medications, treatments, and coordinating patient care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) within the care team.
  • Manage daily huddles, prepare materials, and review patient charts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, local, state, and federal guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate clinical supply inventory and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Document patient progress notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) within specified timelines.
  • Participate in staff selection, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide clinical supervision and delegate tasks to care team members, ensuring completion and adherence to scope of licensure.
  • Manage scheduling, PTO requests, and ensure optimal staffing levels for the care team.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Coordinate and manage daily team huddles, reviewing patient charts and addressing open orders.
  • Prepare clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for patient examinations and treatments.
  • Document patient interactions and care in the EHR, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide feedback and training to staff, fostering professional development and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality protocols are followed.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced nursing education preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York required.
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and medical chart reporting essential.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, regulations, and infection control practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for patient care and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks effectively.
