Family Medicine Provider Overview
- The Family Medicine Provider will deliver comprehensive medical care to adult patients, supporting the mission and goals of the client.
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care, including management of general internal medicine and outpatient HIV treatment.
- Maintain a patient caseload aligned with quality care and productivity standards, ensuring optimal health outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to address patients' health needs effectively.
- Participate in medical staff meetings, conferences, and continuing education to maintain professional competence.
- Supervise paramedical personnel and contribute to their training and development.
- Adhere to infection control measures and organizational policies to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Engage in quality improvement activities, including peer review chart audits and other initiatives.
- Complete all necessary documentation and forms for medical records, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
Family Medicine Provider Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Examine, diagnose, and treat medical illnesses, providing therapeutic and preventive care to adult patients.
- Evaluate patients' health status and make referrals to specialty and consultative medical services as needed.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including progress notes and required documentation.
- Attend and contribute to medical staff meetings, conferences, and educational activities.
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
- Supervise and mentor paramedical personnel, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
- Implement infection control measures in compliance with OSHA standards and organizational policies.
- Report any issues or unusual occurrences to the supervisor promptly.
Family Medicine Provider Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Osteopathic Medicine.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Active medical licensure with current registration in the State of New York.
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive work experience in a related field.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams.
- Commitment to professional development and participation in continuing medical education.
- Ability to manage patient care activities and supervise paramedical personnel.
