Accounting Associate Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage general ledger accounting for multiple entities, including international locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and intercompany allocations.
  • Review employee expense reports and flight activity for compliance with firm policies.
  • Prepare internal management reports, variance analyses, and financial statements for management companies.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in responding to requests from external auditors, regulatory bodies, and service providers.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc internal requests, contributing to organizational goals.
  • Utilize advanced accounting systems like Sage Intacct to optimize financial operations.

Accounting Associate Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, with 2–5 years of corporate accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems like Sage Intacct and familiarity with US GAAP standards.
  • Experience in asset management or private equity accounting is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborative and independent work.
  • Willingness to adopt AI tools and emerging technologies for process improvement.
