Custody Clerk Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Process and verify securities movements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal protocols.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in securities transactions, collaborating with team members effectively.
- Manage updates to non-marketable asset values and physical securities documentation.
- Coordinate DRS/DWAC processing and third-party mutual fund transactions via NSCC.
- Interact with transfer agents to facilitate asset movements and position reconciliations.
- Support income payment processing and ensure timely settlements.
- Recognize and escalate risks associated with asset movements to management.
- Utilize internal and external trading applications to streamline securities operations.
- Maintain superior organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Custody Clerk Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus on financial services or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in securities operations; 10 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, trust accounting systems, and custodial bank systems.
- Knowledge of corporate actions, income processing, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex issues.
