Tax Manager Overview
- The Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance and reporting for diverse fund entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to manage federal, state, local, and international tax filings.
- Contribute to process improvements and tax technology initiatives within a leading multi-strategy investment firm.
- Ensure audit readiness by maintaining comprehensive tax workpapers and supporting documentation.
- Research tax law changes and assess impacts on fund structures and investor reporting.
- Support investor tax reporting, including Schedule K-1s, PFIC reporting, and FATCA/CRS compliance.
- Partner across Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external providers to ensure compliance obligations are met.

Tax Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage tax compliance for partnerships, corporations, and offshore structures, ensuring timely filings.
- Coordinate U.S. withholding tax rates with fund administrators and prime brokers.
- Review tax documentation, including Forms W-8, W-9, 1099, and FATCA/CRS certifications.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit readiness.
- Research and respond to tax notices, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and implement automation solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to manage investor reporting obligations.
- Support the development and implementation of tax technology tools.
Tax Manager Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred.
- 3–5 years of tax compliance experience in investment management or public accounting.
- Knowledge of partnership taxation, investor reporting, and U.S. withholding tax requirements.
- Experience with federal, state, local, and international tax compliance for investment funds.
- Proficiency in tax technology tools and interest in process automation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
