Senior IP Litigation & Trial Paralegal Overview

• The Senior IP Litigation & Trial Paralegal provides comprehensive support to attorneys in intellectual property litigation cases.
• Coordinate discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production using advanced e-discovery platforms.
• Assist in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, exhibits, and discovery responses adhering to procedural requirements.
• Conduct intellectual property research using USPTO databases, Google Patents, and other resources for case preparation.
• Prepare witness binders, interview memos, and relevant documents for depositions and client interviews.
• Support case teams in trial preparation, including logistics coordination and on-site assistance during hearings and trials.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information related to cases and proprietary data.

Senior IP Litigation & Trial Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage case calendars, monitor deadlines, and coordinate with case teams and support departments.
• Prepare invalidity and infringement contentions, claim construction briefs, and Markman hearing materials.
• Draft and proofread legal documents ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Organize and track materials for hearings and trials, providing logistical and on-site support.
• Conduct cite-checks and Bluebook formatting for court briefs and discovery documents.
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegal teams to ensure efficient case management and workflow.
• Support arbitration, trial, and appellate proceedings, including Hatch-Waxman and life sciences IP litigation.
• Utilize expertise in patent terminology and USPTO Patent Center for obtaining patents and prior art.

Senior IP Litigation & Trial Paralegal Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
• Minimum of seven years of intellectual property litigation experience; ten years of related law firm experience preferred.
• Proficiency in state and federal filing requirements, document management, and litigation procedures.
• Experience with PTAB, ITC, Federal Circuit, and appellate proceedings preferred.
• Knowledge of Hatch-Waxman and life sciences IP litigation is advantageous.
• Expertise in e-discovery platforms and intellectual property research tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
