    The person holding this position will perform various tasks pertaining to cost accounting compliance for government contracts, including regulatory review and for current and proposed contracts and preparation of annual cost-related submissions.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate financial transactions for compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Oversee labor charging practices and ensure strict adherence to guidelines.
  • Analyze and report on indirect rate impacts under various scenarios.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions, ensuring accuracy in all schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Develop forward pricing rate proposals and cost impact statements for accounting changes.
  • Conduct internal control reviews to align with DFARS Business Systems and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with defense contract oversight agencies such as the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) on audits and inquiries.
  • Provide support and guidance to internal teams on compliance matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven analytical skills and a meticulous approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication abilities, with proficiency in explaining complex financial data.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and thorough work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or specialized training in government contracting.
  • Familiarity with CAS, FAR, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, Workday, and Coupa.
  • Previous experience preparing for and responding to audits from DCAA and DCMA.
