Job Description
Job Title: Benefits Analyst
Position Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts, in office
Setting/Population: Hospital Corporate Office
Interview Details: Candidates will be conducting a Teams interview with the hiring manager. Onsite may be necessary after Teams
Purpose of position:
Reports to and assists Director of Benefits with daily administration of benefits program
Job Responsibilities:
• Administer employee benefits such as medical, dental, life, FSA, and commuter benefits
• Review and process benefit enrollments, life event changes, terminations, EOI decisions, COBRA
qualifying events
• Assist with creation of benefit communications and coordinate open enrollment process
• Assist with implementation of new benefits and enhancements to benefit program
• Work with benefits vendors to resolve billing, claims, eligibility and service issues
• Educate employees on benefits and answer employee queries about benefits policies
• Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate payroll benefit deductions
• Monitor plan limits, eligibility and other restrictions on plan participation to ensure compliance with
policies and regulations
• Complete verification forms such as Medicare Employer Form and Unemployment Insurance
notices
• Responsible for gathering data necessary to complete government compliance activities (5500s,
ACA, BLS Reporting, audits, etc.)
• Assist with data auditing and reporting
• Provide support for Benefits department as needed which may include assistance with leave
administration and retirement plan administration
Qualification Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and
FMLA
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to present information clearly and in a manner that is understandable to managers and
employees
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and collaborative spirit in a fast-paced
work environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize and execute tasks
• Highly motivated, and team-oriented, with a strong sense of integrity
