Job Description
Summary:
The Special Procedures Tech I assists physicians with arteriograms and or other specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique in diagnosis and treatment of patients. In doing so, prepares examination area, positions patients for procedures and operates complex radiology equipment in accordance with established techniques and routines. Assists physicians as necessary by passing materials, taking exposures as directed and more. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Licenses/Certifications: IEMA licensure Radiology and ARRT registered BLS – American Heart Associaton
- Completion of 2 years training at an approved school of radiologic technology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous patient care experience
OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift; Nonbillable Orientation hours: 12; Guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation.
