Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Offer full administrative support to a team of four attorneys specializing in commercial litigation.
  • Prepare, type, and proofread various legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence.
  • Efficiently manage and maintain both digital and physical case files and litigation documents.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with clients, courts, and other relevant entities.
  • Oversee electronic filings and services of court documents across state and federal courts in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
  • Organize and schedule various legal proceedings, including meetings, depositions, and court hearings.
  • Keep accurate track of attorney schedules, important litigation deadlines, and court dates.
  • Maintain and update digital and physical files and pleading binders as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an administrative or secretarial role within a litigation setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience also considered.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules, particularly in commercial litigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Microsoft Word, and experience with document management systems (i-Manage experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage e-filings in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced legal environment.
  • Typing proficiency and a keen attention to detail are essential.
