Job Description

Summary:

The Marketing and Business Development Senior Specialist works closely with the MBD leadership team, partners and practice group leaders, members of the MBD team, and other office leaders, to execute business development projects, programs, and activities to market the strengths and capabilities of the firm and the New York office. This position provides strategic support to litigation and corporate practice groups with various business development and marketing initiatives, including targeted client outreach, webinars, sponsorships, podcasts, directory submissions, and proposals and pitches.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing high-quality pitches, proposals and RFP responses, including researching firm and partner experience, strategizing and articulating key message points, and highlighting differentiators.
  • Administering short- and long-term business development initiatives while improving processes and efficiencies.
  • Coordinating and drafting submissions for directories and awards (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, GRR, GCR.).
  •  Conducting targeted research and competitive analysis to support business development efforts. 
  •  Maintaining various tracking systems and databases, including pitch tracker, collateral library and experience database.
  • Teamwork is critical to this position’s success and the individual is expected to establish and maintain strong relationships with department colleagues, other firm departments and attorneys.

Requirements:

  • Strong project management skills needed to manage multiple projects, both short- and long-term, to support business development initiatives.
  • Analytical, organization, and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with firm partners and senior attorneys, staff and clients of the firm.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Projects are often high pressure and deadline driven.
  • Meticulous attention to detail including in writing and proofing skills.
  • Strong marketing technology experience and aptitude. Preference for candidates with experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or ClickDimensions.
  • 4+ years of experience in professional services (law firm BD experience preferred).
  • Fluency in MS office.
  • B.A./B.S. in related field.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
