Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer day-to-day operations including the processing and management of electronic and physical document filings across multiple court systems.
- Prepare, review, and edit legal documents such as notices of appearance, service certificates, and proposed orders.
- Maintain meticulous case files and manage scheduling for multiple legal proceedings and deadlines.
- Coordinate directly with courts, clients, and internal teams to schedule hearings and manage case requirements.
- Utilize electronic filing systems such as MDEC and PACER to submit and track court filings efficiently.
- Support legal staff by preparing case materials and maintaining organized records and binders for mediation, auctions, and pleadings.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a support role within a civil litigation or creditor’s rights practice.
- Proficiency with legal document management and electronic filing systems, including MDEC and PACER.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and court personnel.
- Detailed knowledge of civil litigation processes, court procedures, and legal terminology.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal database software, with i-Manage experience being an asset.
