Job Description
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Provide technical support for server-based issues
- Manage the configuration and operation of server-based computer operating systems
- Monitor cloud-based systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
- Create and verify backups of data
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests
- Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
- Help implement, execute, and promote adoption of cloud-based technology control
- Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software, intrusion prevention and other processes
- Review application logs
- Install and test computer-related equipment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in system administration
- Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field or related work experience
- Hands on experience with virtualization technologies
- Exposure to Cloud based technologies (i.e. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
- Experience with MySQL and/or compatible RDBMS
- Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience executing queries
- Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis
- Must be a critical thinker and resourceful problem-solver
