    Seeking a Property Accountant to ensure accounting and finance tasks are processed on time, accurately, and with attention to detail.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage comprehensive month-end accounting procedures including bank reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Analyze and review financial statement variances, coordinating closely with property management for follow-ups.
  • Manage debt service payments and escrow accounts ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Handle all reporting to lenders, maintaining accuracy and punctuality.
  • Monitor cash flow positions across the portfolio and manage daily banking requirements.
  • Support financial aspects of property acquisitions and dispositions under the guidance of the Vice President of Finance, collaborating with Asset Management and Lease Administration.
  • Prepare tax documentation and ensure compliance with all filing deadlines.
  • Manage annual real estate tax reviews, submissions for tax appeals, and other periodic financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to generate necessary accounting reports and data.
  • Engage in special finance-related projects as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or significant professional accounting experience, preferably in real estate.
  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience, with preference given to candidates having five years in the real estate sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Yardi.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
