Accountant (Audit)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls
- Preparation of financial schedules, compilations, reconciliations, general ledger/trial balance analysis
- Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up of audit engagements
- Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
- Meet time constraints and deadlines related to audit engagements
- Perform other general accounting and finance department functions as needed
Qualifications
· BA/BS in Finance or Accounting is required
· CPA preferred
· Experience with A-133 and uniform guidance for government funding nonprofits with federal funding emphasis
· Strong accounting background/knowledge; 3-5 years of public accounting firm experience
· Experience with Financial Edge is preferred but not mandatory
· Excellent responsiveness and demonstrated teamwork skills
· Strong organizational skills are required; multi-tasking abilities
· Ability to work well independently but also work well with others
· Approaches projects with a sense of urgency
· Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
