Job Description

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

  • Prepare regulatory filings for SEC reporting companies – preparation of S-1’s, 10-Q’s, 10-K’s and other SEC filings including financial statements, footnote disclosures and management discussion and analysis to ensure timely and accurate filings for our clients 
  • Ensure that SEC regulatory filings comply with professional standards and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines 
  • All aspects of SEC reporting, including data gathering, processing and control, drafting and document filing (inclusive of XBRL reporting review) 
  • Interface directly and act as a liaison with external auditors and clients 
  • Coordinate, plan and execute all aspects of the quarterly reviews and annual audits with the external auditors, legal counsel, and clients 
  • Ensure that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly included in the financial statements 
  • Manage staff accountants – review work and provide guidance, as necessary 
  • Review workpapers for accuracy and presentation, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational accounts 
  • Review analytical explanations of transactions 
  • Review memos and checklists for submission to external auditors 
  • Verify accuracy of data provided by clients 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • 5+ years’ public accounting experience or 7+ years in an SEC reporting company 
  • Experience preparing footnote disclosures 
  • SEC reporting experience 
  • Strong technical accounting skills 
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Quickbooks 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical skills, written & oral communication skills, with attention to detail 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills 
  • Willingness to work extended hours during filings of registration statements (e.g., S-1’s), Initial Public Offerings, 10-Q’s and 10-K’s to meet clients’ deadlines 
  • Able to read and understand financial reports 
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both clients and team members
