Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of accounting experience, preferably within a law firm, and proficiency with Chrome River expense management software. This role involves managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expense Management: Utilize Chrome River to process and manage expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgeted figures.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including HR and IT, to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Chrome River and other accounting software (e.g., , Elite, Aderant). Must be proficient with Pivot Tables and Vlookups.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certifications: CPA or working towards CPA certification is a plus.
