Job Description
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Communicate with clients to determine their project needs, assess the design direction, and evaluate the possibilities
- Collaborate with architects and other interior designers to assess & implement design plans
- Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors when necessary
- Perform design computations and prepare plans and renderings
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, ADA guidelines, and LEED
- Assist in color selection and spatial design by utilizing construction documents and knowledge
- Order samples, determine furniture specifications, and coordinate with sales representatives
- Adhere to QA/QC process, including design reviews
- Participate in workshops and discussions with prospective clients
- Create and distribute project finish record books
- Maintain project budgets and schedules
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field required
- At least 4 years proven experience in the interior design industry
- Full understanding of Microsoft Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite
- Ability to interpret and produce sketches, drawings, and building programs
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of architectural document production
- Ability to develop floor plans, evaluations, and details
- Exceptionally strong creative and critical thinking skills
- Strong presentation skills and willingness to present designs to clients
