Job Description

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

  • Lead, develop, and manage client projects from early concept to design development 
  • Implement knowledge of architectural design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and materials 
  • Prepare detailed drawings depicting the appearance and interior structure of a building project 
  • Utilize computer software to prepare project design and plans 
  • Consult with clients to determine and ensure their requirements are being met 
  • Direct staff in the development of project conceptualization, drawings, and budgets 
  • Prepare work contracts for building contractors 
  • Visit building worksites to ensure work is being done according to plan and safety regulations are being met 
  • Resolve design issues and direct staff with logical and practical solutions  
  • Prepare and present architectural studies for alterations to existing structures 
  • Work in tandem with the Project Manager to maintain the activities of workers 
  • Produce construction documents in AutoCAD 
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in areas of expertise to peers, developers, and management 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Architecture required 
  • 8-12 years of post-graduate experience
  • Proven working experience as an architect 
  • Experience in Single Family Residential Projects is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, construction details, etc. 
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, & Microsoft Office 
  • Strong imagination and ability to think both creatively and logically 
  • Visual awareness and eye for detail 
  • Strong communication and project management skills
