Job Description
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Observe and record patient behavior
- Perform physical examinations & diagnostic tests
- Collect accurate patient medical history and progress
- Administer medications to patients and assess side effects
- Prescribe assistive medical devices to patients
- Modify patient treatment plans accordingly
- Respond appropriately and rapidly in emergency situations
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in matters related to patients
- Conduct ongoing assessments of patient conditions
- Direct and supervise nursing assistants
- Basic administrative duties as required
Position Requirements
- Experience:
- Two years nursing experience
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
- Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS required
- CPI or MOAB (not required at time of submission, will be required if extending and within 30 days of extension start)
- RN Licensed to practice in the State of Missouri
- NIHSS required
Position Description
General Job Duties:
- Completes assessment/reassessment of patient and documents in medical record
- Analyzes the information collected to determine patient’s needs and expected outcomes
- Develops and implements plan of care based upon the assessment, diagnosis, and expected outcomes of patient
- Oversees the delegation of the plan to other licensed and unlicensed personnel
- Ensures a discharge plan is a part of the individualized plan of care as appropriate to the population served
- Engages in patient/family/staff teaching to achieve the desired patient outcomes
- Maintains working knowledge of and implements key standards that affect operation of patient population served
- Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others (example: students, orientees)
Equipment Utilized:
- Cerner – iView computerized charting
- Pyxis
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2 years nursing preferred
Licensures and Certifications:
- RN Licensed to practice in the State of Missouri
- Current BLS
- ACLS required
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
Shift/Schedule Requirements:
- No call, but will be expected to work as needed including weekends and holidays
Floating to Other Units/Departments:
- All Inpatient Units
Bed Size/Number of Rooms:
- Variable based on unit assigned
Nurse to Patient Ratio:
- Variable based on unit assigned
Dress Code:
- Refer to Dress Code Standard Provided
Training and Orientation:
- 1 Day Orientation with Education as well as 2 shifts floating for orientation
