Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused General Superintendent to oversee and lead construction projects in Columbus, Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will manage multiple construction projects, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and schedule standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in construction management, a deep understanding of construction methods, and a proactive approach to safety protocols and site management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple project sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain strict safety programs across all projects, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align on project requirements, schedules, and resources.
- Conduct regular site inspections, identify and mitigate safety risks, and enforce corrective actions.
- Mentor and support superintendents and field staff, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and high performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop site-specific construction plans and work schedules.
- Review and approve project budgets, ensuring effective cost management and resource allocation.
- Provide regular project status reports to senior management, addressing any issues and proposing solutions.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record as a Superintendent in the commercial construction industry.
- Preferred project experience: commercial concrete, K-12, Healthcare, Data Centers or Correctional Facilities
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and project coordination.
- Strong background in construction safety, with certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or CSP preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and familiarity with BIM and Lean principles.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
