Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead an efficient monthly financial statement close process to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial statements.
- Prepare and review reconciliations for various financial statement line items.
- Research and apply technical accounting standards to complex business issues and transactions.
- Prepare written accounting position papers as needed for management and external auditor review.
- Stay updated on new accounting pronouncements and lead their implementation, including disclosure in SEC filings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and footnotes in compliance with US GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements.
- Support the company’s SOX compliance efforts, maintaining detailed control documentation.
- Manage the administration of the company's equity plans, ensuring accurate recording of stock-based compensation expense.
- Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience, with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting preferred.
- Experience in the biotechnology industry, with a focus on clinical accruals and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Netsuite or a similar ERP system preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage complex projects.
