Summary:
As an Assistant Superintendent, you will support the Project Superintendent in overseeing construction site operations to ensure project success. This role involves daily coordination with subcontractors, assisting in on-site management, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining project schedules. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about construction, with a focus on maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in Site Supervision: Support the Project Superintendent in day-to-day site operations, ensuring project goals and timelines are met.
- Schedule Coordination: Help manage daily and weekly schedules, coordinate subcontractors, and address delays or issues as they arise.
- Quality Control: Monitor construction activities to ensure work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring all team members follow OSHA regulations and company safety guidelines.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between subcontractors, vendors, and project management, fostering strong relationships and clear communication.
- Documentation: Assist with maintaining project documentation, including daily reports, inspections, and progress photos.
- Problem Resolution: Address on-site issues promptly and coordinate with the Project Superintendent and subcontractors to resolve conflicts and maintain workflow.
- Materials Management: Track inventory and ensure materials are available as needed to prevent delays.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in construction or relevant trade experience.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction techniques, safety regulations, and site operations.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
