Surgical Technician

Duties:

• Participates in the observation of patient conditions and promptly reports changes to the responsible nurse.
• Prepares surgical case set up, instruments and supplies; is aware of physician preferences and anticipates needs during surgery. 
• Maintains correct count of sponges, needles and instruments with circulating nurse before, during and prior to closure of surgical site.
• Prepares surgical suite for surgery, obtains needed equipment and supplies before, during and after procedure.
