Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ground-Up Superintendent to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of ground-up government and municipal construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring that projects meet specifications, comply with all regulations, and are completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead all on-site construction activities for government, federal, or municipal projects, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to maintain productivity and quality.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage the construction schedule, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective measures.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Quality Control: Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials to meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs, track change orders, and mitigate risks to stay within budget.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as agency-specific requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience as a superintendent
- Ideally experience managing government, federal, or municipal projects but ground-up experience required
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations for government facilities.
- Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and [insert applicable certifications, such as LEED or PMP].
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Clearance: Ability to pass background checks and obtain security clearances, as required for federal projects.
