Job Description

Position Overview:

The Clinical Supervisor must be a licensed clinician in New York State working directly with the youth residing in the community residence (CR) as well as their families/resources in collaboration with their community health providers. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the standards of regulatory bodies.

Program:

  • Overseeing 3 Children's Residential Programs – 2 in Bronx and one in NYC, all accessible by public transportation. Due to the sensitive nature of the job, exact addresses are provided during the interview.

Must-Haves:

  • RN & Supervisory Experience
  • Desire to work with pediatrics
  • Behavioral health supervisory experience preferred

Work Schedule:

  • No weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Medical/Nursing Department Oversight:
    • Oversee all aspects of the medical/nursing department(s) in assigned programs.
    • Implement and integrate medical protocols into the management of client medical diagnoses.
    • Supervise other nursing staff in the execution of the medical protocols in compliance with NYS regulations.
    • Perform medical documentation reviews to ensure the program is audit-ready.
    • Administer medication to clients within the scope of practice in compliance with NYS regulations.
  • Client Care and Team Collaboration:
    • Act as medical representative at mental health team meetings.
    • Responsible for the medical component of regulatory and COA audits/compliance.
    • Take a leadership role in client education programs on relevant health-related issues.
    • Ensure the program maintains policies and procedures that align with program regulations and adequate workflows and documentation.
  • Liaison and Documentation:
    • Verify that hospitalized clients receive timely and appropriate care.
    • Function as a clinical liaison within an interdisciplinary team of medical/psychiatric providers, social workers, care coordinators, case managers, and peers.
    • Coordinate, prepare, and distribute all routine administrative medical reports as required by any licensing and/or regulatory bodies.
    • Provide on-call support for the program.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education level of a BSN or RN, 2-3 years clinical/behavioral health experience.
  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Position may require specialized expertise in mental health, developmental disorders, crisis intervention, AIDS, infectious disease, or other relevant areas.
  • Familiarity with standard reporting requirements as dictated by regulatory bodies.
  • Prior experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office.

Work Environment/Physical Effort:

  • Services are provided in the community and the office.
  • The offices are accessible according to ADA standards; however, travel sites may not be.
  • Risks/hazards associated with the position include traveling around New York City.
