Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Location: Columbus, OH
Reports To: Senior Project Manager/Project Director
Overview:
Top ENR Ranked General Contractor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Columbus, OH. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing large, complex, and diverse construction projects in sectors such as warehouses, healthcare, mission critical facilities, and higher education. As a key member of the project team, the Project Manager will manage all aspects of project execution, from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring quality, safety, timeliness, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the entire construction project lifecycle from initial planning through completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Team Management: Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project staff and subcontractors.
- Budget and Cost Management: Prepare detailed project budgets, manage costs, review and approve invoices, and monitor expenditures. Ensure that projects are completed within the agreed financial scope.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust timelines to address any delays or issues. Communicate regularly with the project team to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure that all work complies with local codes, regulations, and best practices. Conduct site inspections and quality reviews to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Safety Management: Implement and oversee safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety on-site and manage safety-related issues proactively.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project stakeholders, and senior management. Provide regular project updates and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and address potential risks, delays, or conflicts, and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and project-related correspondence. Prepare and submit regular status reports to senior management.
- Contract Management: Oversee the negotiation and administration of contracts, including reviewing proposals, change orders, and maintaining a thorough understanding of contract terms.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record in delivering large-scale and complex projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- Licensing/Certifications: OSHA 30 Hour, LEED certification, or other industry-related certifications are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.) and proficiency with project management tools and processes.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage client relationships, and influence project outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively address issues and challenges that arise on projects.
