Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Conduct general accounting and reporting for Agency and its affiliates in:

        Investments

        Benefits (reconciliation with vendor payments)

        Cash (bank reconciliations)

        Vehicles (lease commitments, reconciliation to general ledger)

        Pre-paids

        Accounts Payable module reconciliation, stale-dated checks, etc.

        Financial system sub ledgers to general ledger

        Other miscellaneous Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts

§ Analyze general ledger accounts as required.

§ Meet deadlines appearing in month-end close tasks and checklists.

§ Prepare audit schedules and financial statements as required.

§ Prepare tax schedules as required.

§ Prepare work papers and footnotes for year-end audit

§ Perform additional duties as requested.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

§ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

§ Minimum 1+ years of experience in public/private accounting. Audit experience and experience in not-for-profit environment a plus.

§ Experience with automated general ledger system necessary, with experience in use of Great Plains and FRx systems preferred. 

§ Proficient with Excel Pivot Tables, Vlookups and Sumif schedules.

§ Fluency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, essential. 

§ Competence in managing accounting operations, particularly related to applications, systems and recordkeeping processes.

§ Strong writing and verbal communication skills, as well as solid organization skills with attention to detail.

§ Ability to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of staff
