Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage the company’s general accounting functions, including the monthly close process, accounts payable and receivable operations, general ledger, and taxes 
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness 
  • Manage quarterly and year-end financial audit activities 
  • Work with external auditors to prepare schedules and respond to inquiries to ensure timely closing and reporting 
  • Determine and implement improvement and design automation procedures 
  • Supervise all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP 
  • Create and document appropriate internal controls to reduce risk and increase efficiency 
  • Develop junior staff by managing performance, setting goals, mentoring, and providing ongoing training 
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 
  • CPA certification required 
  • 5-7 years' experience in accounting, Big 4 or large CPA firm experience a plus 
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP required 
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills required 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel 
  • Ability to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide solutions 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
