Superintendent – Commercial/Light-Industrial Construction

Location: Columbus, OH

Overview: Our client, a Midwest-based general contractor with regional offices in Ohio, is seeking an experienced superintendent to join their Columbus office. This firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including light industrial, healthcare, higher education, data centers, and public and private developments. This role is ideal for a construction professional who excels at managing field operations, ensuring safety, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities and ensure work is completed according to plans, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to maintain productivity and safety.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, proactively addressing any potential delays or cost overruns.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, manage progress reporting, and resolve any on-site issues.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with owners, architects, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or light-industrial general contracting
  • Strong background in managing projects in light industrial, healthcare, higher education, data centers, or public and private sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead crews, enforce safety, and drive schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • Track record completing projects in excess of $20MM
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software.
  • OSHA 30 Hour, CPR/First Aid certifications
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
