Job Description
Job Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry professionals.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project feasibility.
- Identify potential risks and provide value engineering solutions to optimize project costs.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, pricing, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and present estimates to company leadership and clients as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Must have experience estimating all divisions without oversight
- Commercial construction experience required
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar tools.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
