Surgical Technician Position

Job Requirements

The Surgical Technician will possess:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in orthopedic and spine procedures
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and implants specific to spine and orthopedic procedures
• Understanding of anatomy and surgical procedures related to spine, orthopedic, and pain management specialties
• Excellent sterile technique and adherence to aseptic principles
• Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment and supplies

Job Responsibilities

The Surgical Technician will:

• Prepare operating room by gathering and organizing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for specific procedures
• Maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Anticipate surgical team needs and pass instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping of surgical site
• Perform surgical counts with circulating nurse
• Clean and sterilize instruments according to facility protocols
• Help maintain operating room inventory and notify appropriate personnel of supply needs
• Travel between multiple ambulatory surgery centers within Northern Los Angeles County as needed
• Participate in room turnover between cases to maintain efficient scheduling
