Job Description

Responsibilities:

·      Provide strategic oversight and day-to-day management of all clinical laboratory operations, including Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and Point of Care Testing

·      Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and state regulations

·      Drive quality improvement initiatives and maintain the highest standards of patient care and laboratory services

·      Manage and optimize laboratory budget, staffing, and resources while maintaining operational efficiency

·      Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and hospital leadership to enhance laboratory services and patient care

·      Lead and mentor a team of 100+ laboratory professionals while fostering a positive work environment

·      Oversee laboratory information systems and technology implementations

·      Participate in hospital committees and medical staff meetings

Qualifications:

·      10+ years of laboratory director-level experience in an acute care hospital setting

·      Current ASCP certification required

·      Previous interim leadership experience highly preferred

·      Demonstrated success in leading and unifying large teams through periods of transition

·      Strong track record of regulatory compliance and quality improvement

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across departments

·      Experience with laboratory information systems and automation
