Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for laboratory services across the multi-campus health system as the Executive Director of Laboratory Services
  • Report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and System Vice President of Laboratory Services
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory performance and patient outcomes
  • Manage laboratory budget, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency as the Hospital Laboratory Services Director
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards
  • Foster collaboration between laboratory services and clinical departments to enhance patient care
  • As the Laboratory Services Leader, implement innovative laboratory technologies and methodologies to improve service delivery
  • Lead and develop a team of laboratory professionals with focus on staff retention and growth
  • Establish key performance indicators to monitor and improve laboratory operations

Qualifications

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Generalist or Specialist license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (required)
  • Master's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in laboratory services
  • Large hospital acute care laboratory experience (400+ beds) highly preferred for the Laboratory Services Executive
  • Demonstrated expertise in laboratory budget preparation, financial management, and strategic planning
  • Thorough knowledge of laboratory accreditation requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Track record of implementing successful quality improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build effective cross-departmental relationships
