The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in the preconstruction phase, providing accurate budgetary projections and influencing design decisions for commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed conceptual and schematic-level estimates based on minimal design information, historical data, and industry benchmarks.
  • Lead and manage the estimating process for large-scale projects from preconstruction through final pricing.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to assess project scope, feasibility, and constructability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and risk factors.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and utilize cost databases, software tools, and industry resources for pricing.
  • Provide cost modeling, cash flow projections, and project scheduling insights.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and market insights.
  • Prepare bid packages, procurement strategies, and pricing proposals for competitive and negotiated projects.
  • Present cost estimates and budget recommendations to executive leadership, clients, and project teams.
  • Stay current on market trends, material costs, labor rates, and construction methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in estimating within the general contracting or construction management industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of conceptual estimating methodologies, unit cost development, and market conditions.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (Sage Estimating is used for this client).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
