Job Description

Our client, a non-profit foundation within the healthcare space, is seeking a full-time Communications Officer to work on-site in Manhattan. Salary between 120k-140k plus competitive benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Communication and the communications team in shaping, executing, and assessing the Foundation’s communication strategies and approaches.
  • Take ownership of drafting and curating editorial content across various digital platforms (website, social media, email) and external publications, while guiding team members in content development. Additionally, ensure all content produced, both internally and externally, is thoroughly edited and proofread.
  • Foster relationships with media representatives, maintaining ongoing media outreach and writing press releases with the support of communications consultants.
  • Oversee and maintain daily communication with key consultants and external vendors, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Work in tandem with the Communications Assistant to write, edit, and refine remarks and presentations delivered by Foundation leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in communications, ideally in healthcare.
  • Proven track record in managing editorial calendars and large-scale projects with precision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with the capacity to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and creative, with a strong ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to demonstrate quick turnaround, precision, and effectiveness in all tasks.
  • Comfort working with diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp) and project management systems (e.g., Trello) is advantageous.
