Assistant Nurse Manager – Surgery

Position Overview

The Assistant Nurse Manager for Surgery will support the OR Manager and Director of Perioperative Services in leading a dynamic surgical department within a 300-bed Level II trauma center. This role provides critical leadership across 12 operating rooms while ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts
  • Exempt position
  • Salary range: $52.61 – $85.42 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with development, maintenance, and evaluation of an environment supporting surgical nursing practice and high-quality patient care
  • Monitor staff performance and procedure quality in the periop environment
  • Participate in program development and unit performance improvement
  • May assume Operating Room Nurse Manager duties in their absence
  • May fulfill Charge Nurse role or provide direct patient care/education as needed
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating core organizational values

Requirements

Desired:

  • One year experience in the Operating Room
  • Charge Nurse experience in the surgical services department
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
  • Specialty Certification related to area of specialty: Surgical Services (CNOR)
  • Membership in a professional organization

Minimum:

  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Current CPR recognition
  • Current ACLS recognition
  • Current PALS recognition within one year of employment
