Job Description

Engineering Technician

Onsite in Burlington, MA

6 month contract

As a member of the Engineering Team, this highly motivated person will assist engineering with day to day operations – design, development, test and documentation of new and existing products. This candidate will also support engineering and manufacturing with prototype system builds.

Job duties:

· Build electro mechanical test fixtures and assembly aides for use in manufacturing.

· Assist engineering in sustaining activities to address life cycle issues, continuous improvement, reliability, and cost reductions.

· Support PCB and System level testing.

· Material procurement to support engineering activities.

· Maintain the engineering lab.

· Install, test, and maintain commercially available lab equipment.

Requirements:

· Technical Institute Graduate and/or Associates degree in engineering (electrical/mechanical/biotech) preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering support role with an emphasis on prototyping, test fixture design and documentation. Medical device experience is a plus.

· Demonstrated knowledge of electromechanical hardware.

· Experience working with Schematics, BOMs, and Assembly Drawings.

· Experience working with electronic test equipment, soldering equipment, and basic hand tools is required.

· Proficient in hand soldering (SMT/Thru-hole) and building cable assemblies, soldering cert is a plus.

· Experience in troubleshooting systems/ assemblies such as returned Unit, WIP units etc.

· Experience in creating and maintaining BOM of boards.

· Development and maintenance of mechanical/electrical documentation package.

· Basic machining skills.

· Experience with MS office required. SolidWorks, OrCAD, Arena PLM or Altium is a plus

· Optics handling is a plus.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

· Self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction.

· Well organized, and detail oriented.
