Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled Estimator with expertise in lump sum and design-build project delivery methods. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for lump sum and design-build projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope and cost impact.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure comprehensive and accurate bids.
  • Identify and solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive and complete coverage.
  • Review historical data and market trends to enhance estimating accuracy.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to assess project requirements.
  • Prepare bid proposals, including detailed scope breakdowns and pricing justifications.
  • Support contract negotiations by providing cost data and value engineering alternatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, construction methods, and cost trends.
  • Assist in post-bid evaluations and provide input on awarded projects to improve future estimating efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 10+ years of estimating experience in commercial and industrial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of lump sum and design-build delivery methods.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as ProEst, Timberline, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of current market conditions and pricing trends.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government, municipal, healthcare, industrial, or commercial projects preferred
