PICU Nurse Manager (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
Are you an experienced RN ready to lead a dedicated team in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit? This Magnet-designated hospital in Los Angeles is seeking a PICU Nurse Manager to oversee a 8-bed PICU and 17-bed Pediatric unit. This rewarding leadership position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on pediatric critical care in Southern California.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the PICU Nurse Manager role, overseeing daily operations of both the 8-bed PICU and 17-bed Pediatric unit (coverage as needed)
• Develop, implement and evaluate standards of nursing practice for the PICU department
• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff as the PICU Nurse Manager
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional pediatric patient care
• Manage departmental budget and resource allocation
• Lead quality improvement initiatives within the PICU
• Implement evidence-based practices in pediatric critical care
• Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and staff
• Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction in the PICU environment
Job Qualifications
• Current California RN license required
• BSN required, MSN preferred
• Minimum three years of experience as a Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager
• Previous PICU or pediatric critical care experience essential
• Experience in a Magnet-designated hospital preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric intensive care nursing practice
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Certification in Pediatric Critical Care Nursing (CCRN-P) preferred
