CVOR Nurse Manager (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Are you an experienced surgical nursing leader ready to oversee a high-volume cardiovascular operating room department? A premier Los Angeles area hospital is seeking a dedicated CVOR Nurse Manager to lead a state-of-the-art cardiovascular surgical services with 5 specialized OR suites and a team of 35 skilled professionals. This CVOR Nurse Manager position offers an exceptional opportunity to advance your leadership career in one of the region's most respected cardiac surgical programs performing approximately 200 cases monthly, including complex open heart procedures.

Job Responsibilities

           •         Provide comprehensive clinical and administrative leadership for all CVOR Nurse Manager functions, overseeing daily operations of 5 cardiovascular operating room suites

           •         Manage a team of 35 direct reports including RNs, surgical technologists, and support staff

           •         Coordinate scheduling and resource allocation for approximately 200 surgical cases monthly, including open heart procedures

           •         Develop and implement standards of nursing practice specific to cardiovascular surgical services

           •         Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies throughout the CVOR department

           •         Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists and other interdisciplinary team members

           •         Oversee staff recruitment, orientation, development, and retention strategies

           •         Manage departmental budget, inventory, and equipment needs

           •         Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes in the CVOR

           •         Implement evidence-based practices in cardiovascular surgical nursing

           •         Develop and maintain emergency and disaster protocols specific to the CVOR environment

Job Qualifications

           •         Current California RN license required

           •         BSN required, MSN preferred

           •         Minimum of 5 years cardiovascular operating room experience

           •         3+ years in nursing management or leadership roles

           •         Strong understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures

           •         Experience overseeing staffing and scheduling for multiple OR suites
