Job Description

PROPERTY ACCOUNTANTS/BOOKKEEPERS

  • Maintains regular and predictable job attendance.
  • Gets along peaceably with fellow employees, customers, vendors, etc.
  • Adheres to all Company rules and regulations as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains good personal credit rating history

Responsibilities for each assigned property:

  • Accounts payable-key invoices for payment on a timely basis consistent with cash availability. Know when bills are late or missing, Filing.
  • Cash Flow Statements-Projecting cash availability on a monthly basis based on expected receipts and disbursements. Accountability for daily bank balances. Ability to seek out information needed to determine why cash is low and to communicate to management to get the needed cash. 
  • General Ledger-Preparation of monthly financial statements to accurately reflect the financial condition of each property for the benefit of all interested parties. Must have the ability to thoroughly review the statements for accuracy and ensure that what is being reported makes sense.
  • Cash Management-Communicate consistently with Commercial Property Managers and Residential Managers to know when disbursements are due.
  • Property Taxes-Keep up with real estate and personal property taxes for each property including internal and external escrow accounts.
  • Complete Oversight-Know every facet of the property to include daily and monthly bank balances, when mortgages are due, contracts, and draws from mortgage-held escrow funds.
  • Report/work closely with the Controller to meet the company’s needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

-Need to have exp in commercial or residential property management/real estate
