Job Description

Title: Senior Real Estate Paralegal

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review leases, amendments, license agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other real estate documents.
  • Analyze and edit legal documents prepared by other departments and external parties, providing comments and revised drafts for attorney review.
  • Proofread and prepare final versions of legal documents for execution and distribution.
  • Maintain and update lease forms, project site plans, legal exhibits, and a library of lease clauses.
  • Research exclusive and prohibited uses, building restrictions, and other legal matters; compile findings into summary reports.
  • Review loan documents, track lender approval requirements for leases, and maintain lender contact records.
  • Delegate administrative tasks and coordinate with legal administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to enhance processes and procedures within the department.
  • Handle additional legal and transactional responsibilities as assigned by attorneys.
  • Occasional overtime required based on workload and deadlines.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in real estate law, with a focus on retail leasing and commercial property transactions.
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Paralegal Studies or a related field).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong experience in document management applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proactive work ethic, with the initiative to learn new responsibilities quickly.
